Accessing the Cajun Chateau
Three Rivers Island is only accessible via golf cart or boat, and a golf cart will be provided for your use with no additional fee. You are also welcome to bring your own golf cart! See the boating section for more information on where to park boat and golf cart trailers.
The easiest way to navigate to The Cajun Chateau is to enter “Three Rivers Island Parking” into your Google Maps. We suggest only using Google Maps as it usually doesn’t work on other GPS apps. This will take you to the parking area where the Cajun Chateau golf cart is located. Please do not enter The Cajun Chateau address into Google. It will take you on an extra adventure across the river and possibly expect you to swim across! This is not recommended.
Parking
You will drive to the end of River Highlands Drive where you will notice a large gated parking area to your right. You can park anywhere in this lot with the exception of the covered parking spaces.
Boat trailers are not allowed in this lot and must be parked in the grassy area to the right of the parking lot or alongside the road, as notated in blue. If the lot is full, you can also park your car in these areas.
Using the Golf Cart
The golf cart is a fun part of the River House experience! The Three Rivers Island neighborhood is only accessible by boat or golf cart, giving a peaceful and remote feel to your trip. You will find The Cajun Chateau golf cart in the Three Rivers Island parking lot. Once you have booked the Cajun Chateau, we will send you a confirmation email a few days prior to your trip that will include instructions on how to access the golf cart.
While operating the golf cart, please use common courtesy by refraining from driving in anyone’s yard and using the turnouts throughout the community for passing. Also, remember that you must have a valid driver’s license in order to drive the gold cart.
When you arrive at The Cajun Chateau, you can unload at the door. You can charge the golf cart using the provided charger by the front door. This is an important step you don’t want to forget. We don’t want you to be stranded if the battery runs low!

Entering Three River Island
Your Cajun adventure begins now! Once you leave the parking lot, follow the golf cart path towards the Island. There are no signs so we highlighted the path in red below. Please do not deviate from the path, and watch for alligators and other wildlife as you pass over the Petite Amite River bridge! Once you cross the bridges, travel around the outside of the white gated community, and you will soon arrive at the Cajun Chateau on your left.
Accessing the Cajun Chateau
The Cajun Chateau can be unlocked with a code that will be sent to you a few days prior to your stay. To use the lock box, approach the door and use the lock box located on the dead bolt. Reference the image below to enter your code. Walk in and relax as you begin to unwind. We are excited to share our Cajun haven with you and hope you enjoy your stay!
